Mobile broadband has revolutionized our Internet experience. As more and more people are logging on to the Internet on the go, the need for a faster connection has become imperative, what with all the music downloads, video streaming and other Internet activities that consumes bandwidth. Thanks to mobile broadband, the bandwidth that is being delivered to consumers increased. Broadband actually refers to a term that pertains to a wide array of frequencies in a certain transmission system. If the bandwidth is larger, so does the frequency.

In general, the whole idea of having a broadband connection is to have a "high-speed" connection to the Internet. Being "high-speed" means having a high rate of data transmission. But too often, the mobile broadband speed of a Internet service provider does not measure up to what is advertised, leaving broadband users frustrated. While there are legitimate reasons for slow data transmission, such as traffic management or software on the computer, there are times that a slow mobile broadband speed is unacceptable and is due to poor service.

What to do about this? The first thing you may do is check your mobile broadband speed. It is important to determine the speed of your mobile broadband in order to calculate the necessary steps that you should take. The best way to check your mobile broadband speed is by using a credible speed checker.

Checking your broadband speed is easy, quick and most of all, it's free. You may do so now if like. This website gives you the opportunity to know your mobile broadband speed. Take note that it is to your advantage to test the speed of your mobile broadband. Annoyed that your every download takes so long to be finished? Always having trouble streaming music and videos to your computer or mobile device? Put the speed of your mobile broadband to the test to see if your Internet service provider is true to their promise.

Once you have checked the speed of your mobile broadband and find it unsatisfactory, give your broadband provider a call. Find out if there is anything they can do to improve your broadband speed. You may need to upgrade your modem or have a technician check your line. If there's no improvement you have the right to file a formal complaint to the company. You have the option to take your case to the small claims court in accordance with the Supply of Goods and Services Act if actions were taken but you are still not satisfied or the company failed to act on your official complaint. Or you may just want to switch to another broadband provider if all else failed. Check out the market for Internet service providers that offer faster and reliable speed. Ask around to find out if these providers deliver on their promise before signing up with them. Just always remember that optimum broadband speed is rarely achieved accurately so the thing to consider is which provider gives the most consistent speed.

Broadband - What is 4G WiMAX?

WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is Internet Access Provider new telecommunication/broadband technology aimed at providing wireless data over long distances in a variety of ways, from point-to-point links Isp Package full mobile cellular type access. WiMAX allows a user, for example, to browse the Internet on a laptop computer without physically connecting the laptop to a wall jack in the same way as Wi-Fi.

?WiMAX & Wi-Fi may seem similar (as well as sound similar), they are actually aimed at different applications.

?WiMAX offers a long range broadband which can cover many kilometres. This can deliver a connection from broadband providers to an end user.

?Wi-Fi offers a shorter range broadband of a couple of hundred metres. This allows an end user to access their own network.

Why? There are a few aspects of WiMAX that make it so important to the future of broadband technology in this country. Most importantly, the cost, WiMAX not only offers a far greater range at a far better bandwidth; it will also be available at around half the cost of existing wireless broadband services. Therefore, allowing affordability, this will expand the amount of broadband customers in the UK significantly. WiMAX will also allow broadband providers to keep up with demand for broadband on the go. WiMAX will also provide better security, reliability and high quality that will be able to support the ever increasing numbers of bandwidth heavy applications. Speeds of up to 10Mb/s at a wireless range of between 2 ?10 miles would be achieved, which is a significant difference to the Wi-Fi broadband available at the moment (for example at Wi-Fi spots).

4G (Fourth-Generation Communication System) is the follow up of 3G. Like 3G, it will include wide-area wireless voice telephony and broadband wireless data. Although, 3G was limited to the use of a mobile phone, 4G system will provide end-to-end IP solution where voice, data and streamed multimedia can be served to users on an Anytime, Anywhere?basis at higher data rates. It will allow systems the capability of providing 100Mb/s and 1Gb/s, respectively, in outdoor and indoor environments. This also offers high security at affordable costs.

4G WiMAX will be available by early 2008 creating a true wireless broadband experience.

If you are interested in taking advantage of current broadband internet technology then you should compare many broadband providers available in your area.

Word is that Deutsche Telekom (the parent company of T-Mobile) is now actively engaged in talks with Clearwire and MetroPCS to expand its 4G network. This isn't terribly shocking to hear, considering that most other providers (including AT&T, Verizon and Sprint) are already either heavy into negotiations or in the process of upgrading their infrastructure. Though the company hasn't yet said anything about planned expansions, word is its looking for the most "cost-effective" way to build nationwide networks capable of higher speeds.
